In a world where healthcare accessibility is a significant concern, especially in rural areas, medical camps play a vital role in bridging the gap between healthcare needs and services.

Recently, our Oscar institution had the privilege of organizing a MEDICAL CAMP in the picturesque village of Cithamparampatti located in kovilpatti Taluka of Thoothukudi District in Tamilnadu , made possible with the support and permission of key community leaders: President R. Janaki Ramasamy, Clerk M. Madasamy, and 4th Ward Vice President A. Murugan, along with the Panchayat Council Ward. Held at the village elementary school with the cooperation of the school principal. This event would not have been possible without the guidance and support of village leaders. The camp not only provided invaluable experience for our healthcare students but also brought much-needed medical care to the villagers. NEWS TAMIL media was present to capture these transformative moments and share the impact of the event.

Weeks of meticulous planning among students, faculties, and local authorities paved the way for this camp. The team identified areas of focus, such as general health check-ups and distributed flyers and announcements for maximum outreach. The involvement of dedicated volunteers ensured smooth coordination and readiness to serve the community.

Starting around 8 a.m., the elementary school became a hub of medical activity. More than 150 villagers, from children to elders, arrived with anticipation and hope. Organized into different stations, each specializing in an area of healthcare, the camp exemplified community spirit and collaboration.

The Camp

General Health Check-Ups and Free Medicines

Villagers shared overwhelmingly positive feedback, expressing gratitude for the healthcare support many had been lacking. The camp not only met their immediate health needs but also raised awareness about preventive care. NEWS TAMIL's interviews captured these sentiments, illustrating how much this initiative meant to the community.

We invite you to join us in our mission to bring healthcare to rural communities. Whether through donations, volunteering, or spreading awareness, every contribution makes a difference. Together, we can continue making an impact, one village at a time.

The Preparation

At the general health check-up station, Dr. Saranya M.D.,(General Physician) led our healthcare students in attending to each patient, checking essential health parameters like blood pressure and blood sugar levels. After consultations, free medicines, ointments and tonics were provided according to each patient’s specific needs, addressing conditions like high blood pressure, anemia, and vitamin deficiencies. For many villagers, receiving targeted treatment and medication was a first-time experience, and they expressed immense gratitude for the attentive care.

Positive Feedback

The medical camp in Cithamparampatti was more than a healthcare initiative; it was a testament to the impact of community service and collaboration. Wrapping up around 3 p.m., we left with a sense of fulfillment and determination to bring health and hope to more villages in need.
