At Oscar College, Pongal is more than just a festival – it’s a day to strengthen bonds, celebrate traditions, and cherish the spirit of unity. This year’s Pongal celebration was no different, bringing our students, faculty, and staff together in a vibrant and heartwarming event.

The Festive Beginning

The day started with a flurry of excitement as students came together to decorate the campus with beautiful kolams. Their intricate and colorful designs not only added charm to the surroundings but also showcased the creativity and enthusiasm of our students.

Pongal Preparation: A Bonding Experience

One of the most memorable moments of the day was the preparation of Pongal by each class. Students worked together, from setting up the clay pots to cooking the sweet Pongal, filling the air with the aroma of jaggery, cardamom, and ghee. It was a wonderful sight to see classmates bonding over the preparation, sharing laughter, and embracing the essence of teamwork.

Games Galore: Fun and Laughter

The celebration was packed with exciting games and activities that brought out the competitive spirit in everyone.

Volleyball Matches: Students showcased their athletic skills and teamwork on the court, making the matches thrilling to watch.

Lucky Number Game: A game of chance that had everyone on the edge of their seats, eagerly waiting for their numbers to be called.

Musical Chairs: Laughter echoed across the campus as students and staff tried to grab a seat in this timeless favorite.

Traditional Games: In the spirit of Pongal, traditional games like tug of war and uri adi were also organized, reconnecting everyone to the roots of Tamil culture.

Recognition and Rewards

To honor the efforts and participation of the students, our esteemed College Correspondent Mr. R. Subburaj , distributed prizes to the winners. The gleaming smiles of the winners reflected their happiness and pride, making the event even more special.
